Weekly Activities

Here at Sandbanks River Country Campground, we have a fantastic selection of weekly activities – there’s something for everyone! Check the schedule for full details, changes or cancellations. Some events may be postponed or cancelled due to undesirable weather.

Kids Crafts
Saturday and Wednesday mornings 9:30 am in the Rec Hall
Children can explore their creativity with a fun craft – often corresponding with the theme of the week!

BINGO
Saturdays at 8:00 pm in the Rec Hall
Keep calm and Bingo on. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Chocolate Bar BINGO
Thursdays at 1:00 pm in the Rec Hall
A sweet twist on this classic game is loved by all children. The first player to announce bingo gets to choose their favourite chocolate bar, the game resumes and continues until each player has called bingo and selected a bar.

Wagon Ride
Saturday evenings 7:00 pm
Kids of all ages never tire of a tractor-pulled wagon ride through the campground. Don’t be surprised to hear the sweet sounds of children singing karaoke!

Card Tournament
Random Friday nights at 7:00 pm in the Rec Hall
Euchre & Poker… what a super fun way to get to know everyone at the campground! See calendar for exact dates.

Wine & Signs
Occasional Friday nights at 7:30 pm in the Rec Hall
Grab a glass of wine (optional!) and join Michelle in the Rec hall to create a beautiful painted wooden porch sign or wall art. See the calendar for dates and that night’s theme. Pre-registration and fee required (email to

Movie under the Stars
Starts at dusk, check calendar for dates
Grab your lawn chair and blanket and join us to watch family-friendly movies on the big screen!

Energy Buster Outdoor Game
One every week - See calendar for times
Each week there’s a different high-energy game that can be enjoyed by all ages!

Gigantic Board Games
Thursdays 11:00 am outside the Rec hall
Your favourite board games - but on a larger scale… Dice, Garden Jenga, Pictionary, Yahtzee, just to name a few.

Tone with Terri Tone with Terri
Sundays 8:00am – meet in the parking lot across from the boat launch
Camping doesn’t mean you have to give up the gym! Join Terri Gulliver, national Figure Fitness competitor and recognized athlete, for a different and fun class each week such as biking through the county, jogging or yoga on the beach, and more.

Play these games at your leisure:

Theme Weekends

Mother’s Day Weekend

May 10-12

Give mom a needed break this weekend! Kids can create a special craft just for her, then all the family will have a blast with a game of Blindfold Win Lose or Draw. On Mother’s day, watch her smile as we treat the family to pancakes … No cooking for Mom!

Victoria Day Long Weekend / Minute to Win It Challenge

May 17-20

Start the weekend off by getting to know other campers at the Euchre tournament. THEN… You’ve seen it on TV…. now play it in real life! Minute to Win It… it’s fun for all ages. Who will be named this year’s champion? Join us for our annual Welcome Back BBQ, then a movie under the stars. Along with our regularly scheduled activities, this weekend you’re sure to enjoy every MINUTE!

Wild Wild West Weekend

May 24-26

Giddy up city-slickers… and dig out those cowboy boots & hats, chaps and bandanas … it’s gonna get wild! Weekend kicks off with some Texas Hold’em Friday night. Then pony up for Saturday’s horseshoe tourney. And what’s a wild west weekend without a country hoedown? See y’all soon!

Wine & Cheese Sharing Weekend

May 31 - June 2

Prince Edward County is home to more than 40 wineries… no wonder we love our wine. This week’s Wine & Signs craft will of course have a wine theme (pre-registration required). And Saturday we invite you to bring your favourite bottle of wine and hunk of cheese to share. We will have a few to share as well!

Back to Nature Weekend

June 7-9

Nothing says Nature like a Euchre Tournament! (wait, what?) A traditional outdoor Scavenger hunt and Glow in the Dark Bowling will get you back to nature.

Father’s Day Weekend

June 14-16

It’s ALL about Dad this weekend! Wine & Signs Friday night has Dad in mind with a beautiful Scrabble tile wall art creation -- Google it! (Pre-registration required). On Saturday night, it won’t be Disney playing on the big screen! On Father’s Day morning, be sure to stop by the Rec Hall to enjoy Donuts with Dad – our treat!

I Scream Weekend

June 21-23

Only one week left before school is out… YEEAAHHH! Celebrate by tasting every flavour of ice cream imaginable and if that’s not enough – come on out to Sunday Sundae and top yours any way you like it.

Canada Day / Fishing Derby

June 28 - July 4

This week don’t forget to wear red and white and decorate with pride. Add to your Canada Day decor with a beautiful creation at Wine & Signs (pre-registration required). This week’s festivities include our annual fishing derby with loads of prizes to be won. Try your skills at Glow in the Dark Ring Toss, Canadian Olympics and Slip & Slide Hockey. Kids can deck out their bikes and showcase their artwork in the Bike Parade. It wouldn’t be Canada Day without face painting and tattoos!

Like, Totally 80’s Week

July 5-11

Who can forget fashion of the 80’s… fluorescent clothes, shoulder pads, leg warmers, and we know they’re in your closet so pack them this week and celebrate that era with an 80’s Street Dance ! Then it’s show time with The Not-So-Newlywed Game, 80’s Trivia, a Rubik’s Cube challenge… gnarly.

Pirates Week

July 12-18

This week deck out your boat, jet ski, kayak, canoe, sup board or floatie – it’s a vessel convoy with a prize for the best dressed. Aye, we’ve got Water Gun Wars and a Treasure Hunt.

Wet & Wild Week

July 19-25

July is the hottest month of the year so stay cool this week with these activities that may or may not get you wet …. Kayak Race, Beach Towel Volleyball, Water Bombs and a Triathlon.

Christmas in July

July 26 - August 1

At Sandbanks River Country we love Christmas! Decorate your site for a chance to win a prize! Make a Christmas porch sign at Wine & Signs, and it wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from Santa!

Poker Run Week

August 2-8

Kick off poker run week with a Poker Game in the Rec Hall Friday night. Start those engines cause on Saturday it’s the East Lake Poker Run – followed by the card reveal where we’ll determine who has the winning hand! And on Sunday kids get to play too with the River Poker Run!

Beach Party Week

August 9-15

Saturday night we’re throwing a Luau complete with tropical drinks and umbrellas! Play Glow in the Dark Bowling and Beachball volleyball. And bring your pails and shovels to enter our Sand Sculpting contest on one the most beautiful beaches in Ontario.

Sandbanks Got Talent

August 16 - 22

It’s time to showcase your hidden talents. Can you sing? Juggle? Dance? Do magic? There are great prizes to be won! Then Sunday is the big reveal… who is Sandbanks River Country Campground’s surprise talent guest ???

Halloween in the County

August 23 - 29

Start off the week by decorating your site to join in the festivities and have a chance to win a prize! We’ll also make a Halloween porch sign at Wine & Signs. Saturday, join the family fun… dress-up and trick-or-treat through the campgrounds (make sure someone stays behind at your site to hand out treats!) Adults trick or treat at dusk 😉. And make sure you get involved in the Murder Mystery!

Labour Day / Corn Roast Weekend

August 30 - September 2

The most anticipated weekend of the season… the annual corn roast and dance is a campground tradition. Additional activities include Wine & Signs, an Obstacle Course and S’moresgabord!

Grandparents Weekend

September 6-8

Sunday is Grandparents day and what better way to celebrate than to join your families together at the campground on Saturday where we’ll honour our Seniors with a hearty home-cooked Pot Luck Dinner. Sign-up sheet will be posted on the main bulletin board.
